At Curiosity Lab, we are proud to have a global presence and have relationships with organizations all across the world from Japan to Canada and even Spain. And it is because of these growing international relationships, we have been invited to attend the Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC) this November.
SCEWC is the world’s largest and most influential event for smart cities and urban innovation. The goal of the conference is to bring cities and territories together to discuss the latest smart city solutions and how to approach integrating these solutions into our daily lives. The conference makes a point to bring in a diverse crowd of industry executives, government leaders, researchers and entrepreneurs to move cities toward a better future. Last year, the conference held over 25,000 attendees from around the globe with over 1,000 exhibitors and over 600 speakers. With all of the continuous innovations we are seeing around the world, the 2024 event is sure to be another exciting conference.
This year, Curiosity Lab will have a booth presence, has been invited to speak on multiple panels and will be co-hosting the Smart Cities Global Startup Challenge with our cross-regional partner, the North Texas Innovation Alliance (NTXIA). Curiosity Lab representatives will be actively recruiting international startups to join our ecosystem and will be working to build relationships with new partners for the lab while at the conference.
Located in the USA Pavilion, the Curiosity Lab booth (D-40, Hall 3) will be packed with hands-on demos from our ecosystem members. We are excited to have our founding partner T-Mobile in the booth with us where we will showcase how their connectivity powers the multiple technologies across the lab and our smart city as a whole. We will also be joined by Estonian startup Clevon and their Autonomous Robot Carrier (ARC) where they will be showcasing demos of first and last-mile mobility and delivery. German startup SOLID 3D, which is focused on developing robots to accelerate the transition to automated warehouses, will also be in the booth showcasing its latest technologies. And finally, we will also be joined by Juganu, a leading provider of smart lighting whose solution creates a fully digitized environment and eliminates the need for multiple devices on one pole. You will not want to miss these incredible demos and the chance to speak with representatives of each of these companies.
Curiosity Lab representatives are going to have a very busy conference this year, as we have been invited to speak across multiple panels and share our knowledge of smart cities. Some of our major speaking opportunities include:
- “Accelerating Connectivity & Green Initiative for Mobility” where Executive Director Brandon Branham will be speaking with panelists from CTIA, T-Mobile and Flashnet SA.
- “Women in Tech: Tackling Smart Cities Across the U.S.” where Managing Director Valerie Change will be speaking alongside representatives from NTXIA, T-Mobile and CTIA.
- “International Innovation in the United States: 5G-Powered Smart City” where Curiosity Lab booth members and ecosystem members T-Mobile, SOLID 3D, Clevon and Juganu will be speaking on a panel discussing their experiences in Peachtree Corners.
- “The Role of IoT Networks in Decarbonisation and Energy Efficiency” where Executive Director Brandon Branham will be joining Cities Today Institute and panelists from OICT Prague, Paradox Engineering and Smart Region Interdepartmental Axis at SUPSI to discuss how IoT-driven, tech-enabled solutions are helping cities achieve net-zero and broader sustainability objectives.
- “Unlocking AI’s Potential in the Americas: Regional Insights and Opportunities” where Curiosity Lab Executive Director Brandon Branham will be speaking alongside NVIDIA, Dell Technologies, PNY Technologies and NTXIA where they will be discussing AI in smart cities across North America.
Additionally, this year Curiosity Lab will be co-hosting the Smart Cities Global Startup Challenge with cross-regional partner NTXIA. Startups from around the globe were invited to submit their application with a chance to win piloting and funding opportunities in the United States. The top 4 finalists will participate in a live pitching session to an esteemed panel of judges at SCEWC. The winners will also be announced at this event. Find out more about this pitch competition here.
Our team is thrilled to be attending this incredible global event and is looking forward to forming new international relationships. Stay tuned for updates on Curiosity Lab’s presence at this event.
